Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to see any of our team. However, Medicare rebates for Psychological services and some Midwifery/IBCLC services can only be accessed with relevant referral. Please read on regarding the specifics of referrals for services.

Can I get a rebate?

Psychology:

Yes, with a current Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, or a referral from a Psychiatrist, you can claim a rebate for part of the fee for your sessions from Medicare. The current rebate for a Clinical Psychologist is $137.05 per session. The rebate for a Registered Psychologist is $93.35 per session. If you do not wish to obtain a rebate from Medicare, you may be entitled to a rebate for Psychological services from your Private Health Insurer.

Lactation/Midwifery:

Can baby attend the session?

Yes! We warmly welcome babies to attend sessions at the practice if you want or need to bring them along with you. Our practice is pram and baby friendly. We also welcome babies attend during our sessions via telehealth.

We are family centred and understand that when struggles occur, they can occur within the family unit. As such, we encourage that at some stage throughout our sessions, we conduct a family session to meet and involve your family. Of course we understand that this is not always practicably possible, and will work with you around your wants and needs around these sessions.

Can fathers and partners attend?

Absolutely, we encourage all fathers and partners to be involved in this process. In addition, we also see men for individual therapy.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes, we do have a cancellation policy. When you book a session, that time is allocated for you. If you do not attend your appointment or fail to cancel within 24 hours, you will be charged the full fee for the session. We understand that unanticipated situations can arise. Therefore, if you cannot attend, please contact the practice as soon as possible so that we can allow someone else to fill your appointment. Rebates for services are not available for payments on late cancellations.
